Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme

We have an active role in the learning disability mortality review programme.
Based on what we have learnt from the LeDeR programme. Over the past 3 years, we have made various improvements to local services. These include:
- end of life training to learning disability care providers
- a ‘Start the Conversation’ pack to support sensitive conversations about death and dying
- improvements in getting blood tests for people with challenging behaviours
- the STOP and WATCH campaign to improve recognition of early warning signs of ill health
- improvements in access to cancer screening for people with learning disabilities
- advice packs for how to support people with learning disabilities during the pandemic.
