About Us
The Network is a secondary care adult Mental Health enablement service created in partnership with the London Borough of Barnet and Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health Trust.
We provide short-term (up to 9 months) support for people who are experiencing mental health challenges and want to gain a better understanding in order to move forward in their life.
What do we offer
- an assigned Key Worker who will be your main point of contact. Your Key Worker will co-create a personal plan and will meet with you regularly to monitor the progress of the goals you set
- enablement courses which are facilitated on a monthly rolling programme to increase your coping skills and help you reach your goals
- partnership working and signposting, we collaborate with Barnet Outreach, The Barnet Wellbeing Hub (Meridian), Citizens advice, Age UK and other organisations
- we have Community Engagement Workers, who can help you identify and engage with community resources, such as local interest groups, colleges, and outdoor activities
What does Enablement mean?
Enablement means empowering you to take control of your own mental health and your life using various helpful tools and strategies.
Our aim is to put the power back into your hands which will be explored through your journey with The Network.
Enablement Groupwork
- Action for Wellbeing (6 sessions over 3 weeks) focuses on the achievement of goals previously set with your Key Worker. It focuses on motivation and the recognition of obstacles and triggers and how to manage them. These sessions encourage the making of practical and realistic changes in your life.
- Carers Group (6 sessions over 6 weeks) explores the importance of maintaining your sense of self within a caring position. Aiming to develop healthy wellbeing practices, to increase your social connections and enhance the carer’s well-being.
- Coping Strategies for Wellbeing (2 session workshop) was co-produced by The Network’s Community Engagement Workers, The Client Forum, and Peer Support worker. It was created using personal lived experience to develop coping strategies to maintain well-being and manage positive change.
- Men’s Workshop (1 session) offers the opportunity for men to understand emotional management and to explore your life roles and identity.
