Council Tax Support
Council Tax Support is a benefit applied to your Council Tax bill.
The amount of Council Tax Support is based on income band. You can get up to 72% discount.

Council Tax Discretionary Relief Scheme
Council Tax Discretionary Relief (CTDR) is intended for residents who are suffering from hardship due to exceptional circumstances and require help to meet their Council Tax liability.
It provides short term assistance and is made at the council's discretion in cases where it considers that extra help is needed.
To be eligible for Council Tax discretionary relief, you must:
- be the person responsible for paying the Council Tax
- demonstrate that you need financial help in order to pay your Council Tax and are actively taking steps to address your financial hardship
- CTDR cannot be used to help with housing costs

If you're currently getting Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, but need more help with housing costs, you may be eligible for Discretionary Housing Payments and/or Council Tax Discretionary Relief.
