If you are unable to repay the full amount we have invoiced you for, you can ask us to consider a payment arrangement.
We will ask you to repay the full amount within 12 months of the date on your invoice.
We do not accept payment arrangements from landlords.
You will need:
- overpayment or invoice number
- housing benefit reference
- national insurance number
It can take up to 10 days to respond to your message.
If you cannot repay the full amount within 12 months
We will need to carry out a financial review to make sure you can afford to pay it back over a longer time.
We will ask you to give us details and proof of your income and spending. We will then conduct a review.
You will need:
- overpayment or invoice number
- housing benefit reference
- national insurance number
Income:
- if employed, you and your partners last 5 payslips
- if self-employed, your latest tax assessment and latest profit and loss accounts
- your last 3 bank statements
- entitlement letters for any benefits you get
Spending:
- your latest utility bills
- proof of your rent, tenancy, or mortgage
- statements for any credit you have
- evidence of arrangements with any debtors or court fines
It can take up to 10 days to respond to your message.
Change your payment arrangement
If you wish to lower the amount of your payment arrangement you will need to show us your income and spending again.
If you cannot pay your agreed arrangement amount you should contact us.

If you do not pay
If you do not pay your invoice in full or request a payment arrangement within 1 month then we may recover the outstanding balance in other ways
