Trash screen improvements will be made at:
- Blaketts Brook, Torrington Park Culvert in Friary Park.
- Folly Brook, Southover culvert
- Shierbourne brook, Burnside Close culvert
All 3 locations are flooding hotspots.
Benefits of the trash screens
The proposed trash screens will help to stop local flooding and reduce the risk of blockages.
The existing security screens at these locations do not provide access to the maintenance crew during emergency service.
The new angled trash screens will provide an access platform and will help reduce the risk to health and safety of the maintenance officers.
When the work will be completed
The design is finished and the construction will start between August and September 2021
