Construction sites
Major construction sites can cause loud levels of noise.
Construction and engineering works include: demolition, maintenance, repair and erection of buildings.
Much of this noise is unavoidable due to the nature of the work.
The permitted hours of work on construction sites when noise can be heard are:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
Saturday, 8am to 1pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays, no noisy works allowed - such as power tools.
Any noisy work outside these hours cannot be done without our advanced approval and permission is only granted in exceptional circumstances e.g. emergency works.
