Pharaoh ants
Skip to:
Pharaoh ants are around 2mm long and yellow brown.
They have the ability to get containers and sterile dressings. They feed on high protein and sweet foods. A single queen can produce over 3000 eggs in its life and a colony often consists of multiple queens which spread out when the nest is under attack.
You must not spray Pharaoh’s Ants, this will panic the nest and cause the queens to spread out increasing the number of nests and spreading the infestation – possibly to neighbouring properties.
We recommend you contact your neighbours to check if they are affected. Pharaoh ants must be treated professionally (we offer discounts on group or block treatments)
What we will do during the treatment
- locate ant runs and trails and decide on the treatment required
- put down bait stations and gel, this treatment is designed to sterilise the queen and stop any further increase of ants. The infestation may seem to get worse before they die off – the treatment works by allowing the ants to take the bait back to the nest and feed the Queens.
- we will make 2 visits, one every 4 weeks.
- revisits within 8 weeks of end of treatment are included only if our recommendations are followed, visits after this time will be chargeable.
After treatment
We will give you a report of the work we have done with guidance and advice on what you need to do after the treatment.
