Transforming Brent Cross job opportunities

The Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme is the biggest redevelopment and growth programme Barnet Council has ever undertaken, and is amongst the most ambitious across Europe. In addition to thousands of jobs building the new park town and Brent Cross West, across the programme we’ll see 27,000 new jobs created in the future.

As part of our digital infrastructure work, the council is working with approved broadband operators to secure apprenticeship and graduate placements, and to promote recruitment opportunities to residents.

The Talent Retention Scheme provides a portal where you can register your personal profile and CV and search for vacancies in the construction industry

Mayors Construction Academy

Mayors Construction Academy is a construction employment and skills initiative. Part of the Mayor’s Construction Academy Hub. Training is employer-led and gives:

  • an introduction to the industry
  • health and safety training
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards.

Bright Futures

Bright Futures help people with a learning disability, autism, or Aspergers build skills and confidence. They provide:

  • one-to-one support that continues into employment
  • job opportunities
  • training based on your career goals.

Disability Employment Advisors

Disability Employment Advisors (DEA) provide specialist support on employment issues affecting people with disabilities and their carers.

Government’s Access to Work scheme

If you are disabled or have a physical or mental health condition that makes it hard for you to do your job, talk to your employer about changes they can make to support you in the workplace. You can also apply for the Government’s Access to Work scheme if you need extra support.
