Mental health support in your community

You can talk directly to organisations in Barnet offering mental health support. They can give advice about services available locally, and offer you group and individual support to overcome mental health problems.

NHS Barnet Talking Therapies 

NHS Barnet Talking Therapies (which used to be called Let's Talk IAPT) is a free service for people 16 years old and over, providing a range of treatment programmes including one to one therapy, counselling and group work.'

The Network programme

The Network provides short-term support if you have mental health problems and want to become more independent, gain confidence and be part of your community.

Support in a crisis

  • If you need urgent mental health treatment, you can self-refer to the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) team on 0800 151 0023. The team sees people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in their home or local community, GP surgeries and A & E departments 
  • You can also access Sanctuary in Barnet / Mind in Enfield and Barnet who are open every day of the year, 4:30pm-10pm weekdays and 12-6pm weekends. Their phone number is 0208 343 5704. The team at Sanctuary in Barnet are trained mental health professionals who specialise in crisis de-escalation and prevention and offer immediate support during times of crisis. 
  • If you're already a patient of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and need urgent care you should contact your care coordinator between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Outside these hours, please contact the CRHT team. 
  • You can also contact your GP or out-of-hours GP service
