If you are foster carer currently approved by an independent fostering agency why not come and foster for Barnet. If you feel you are not getting the support you need from your fostering agency, fostering for Barnet may be the best step you can take. We in Barnet are here for you every step of your fostering journey.

The transfer process
If you would like to discuss transferring to the Barnet’s Fostering team:
- call us on 020 8359 6274 or email us at fostering@barnet.gov.uk to let us know you're interested in fostering with us
- we will ask you to submit an application to us and advise you to inform your current agency or local authority that you plan to move this is often referred to as a ’Letter of Intention’.
- once we have accepted your application, you will be introduced to your social worker who will carry out your initial visit and your assessment.
- You will be advised when the time is right to submit your Resignation Letter to your current agency or local authority giving them formal written notice that you are resigning
