Change of address
Same CPZ
If you are moving to an address in the same (CPZ) then all you need to do is provide the proof documents and update your address in your permit account. To do this, check out the NSL Apply parking permit user guide in the related content section.
Different CPZ
If you have moved to an address in a different (CPZ) then you would need to cancel your existing resident permit and apply for a new resident permit. You may be due a pro rata refund.
Change of vehicle
If you have changed your vehicle, you do not need to cancel your existing resident permit.
All you need to do is register the new vehicle in the manage vehicle details tab of your permit account. Once the new vehicle registration has been added, select the retrieve vehicle details green button so that the information can be automatically generated and aligned with the DVLA vehicle information records. If the new vehicle is brand new or the details are not automatically yielded then you may be required to manually add the new vehicle information based on the vehicle logbook (V5C) document or if you do not have this you could always refer to the Get vehicle information from DVLA - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
If your parking permit is chargeable, It is important that the vehicle is placed in the correct charge band prior to submitting the change request. This is because, if your new vehicle falls into a higher or lower charge band, then you would either be required to pay a pro rata surcharge or be issued with a pro rata refund once the change of vehicle has been requested.
If the new vehicle falls into the same charge band, then no surcharge or refund applies.
We may contact you to provide further evidence.
Information on how to request a change of vehicle can be found in the NSL Apply parking permit user guide in the related content section.
If your main vehicle is being serviced or repaired
You can apply for a temporary change of vehicle if you:
- have an active permit and your main car is being serviced or repaired
- need temporary cover for a hire or courtesy car
To do this, check out the NSL Apply parking permit user guide in the related content section.
Once the temporary change of vehicle cover has been applied to your resident permit it is active straight away. The cover is set to expire after 14 days from the activation date.
After 14 days has lapsed the temporary vehicle registration will automatically be deleted, and your resident permit will automatically be assigned to your main vehicle.
As this is temporary cover, you will not receive any reminder notifications and there will be no record of the temporary vehicle registration once the 14 days has lapsed. Therefore, you will need to make a note of the activation date of the temporary change of vehicle.
In the event that your main vehicle is still being serviced or repaired after 14 days you would need to repeat the temporary change of vehicle cover process in your permit account.
You can only apply for temporary vehicle cover 4 times in a 12 month period starting from the date that the resident permit was issued or renewed from.
