What one of our health walkers has to say
Philippe Debourcieu, Age 71.
"I have been attending the walks organised by Barnet Council since late 2019.
I have always enjoyed walking but found that doing so alone was difficult and rather boring.
I was told about these walks by a friend who has been attending for 10/15 years and this has contributed to a change in my lifestyle.
I walk 4 times a week with the group whatever the weather, and thoroughly enjoy every minute.
Walking is excellent for the health and of course contributes to helping to keep you fit and having a clear mind. The fact that there are other walkers by your side, even if very little exchange takes place between you, is of immense help and just keeps you going.
Should I miss a walk which I try not to do, I get withdrawal symptoms and regret it for the rest on the day. My only regret is that I didn’t join these walks earlier in my life.
One doesn’t have to get to their sixties to start and join in”.
