Tough action on bad behaviour in Burnt Oak

New CCTV cameras have been installed, and police and council officers have stepped up their patrols in the area. They will take tough action against flytipping, littering and antisocial behaviour, such as street drinking.

The event brought together people from multiple faiths and those of non-religious beliefs to plant a memorial garden, dedicated to those who have lost their lives as a result of senseless persecution.

Libraries All libraries in the borough will be closed from 10am on Saturday 21 March until further notice. I have been truly heartened to see how local people have rallied together and are looking out for those around them. As the Prime Minister announced last night, there are new measures in place to limit the spread of infection. For your part, you must now stay at home unless it is to shop for food or medicine, go for outdoor exercise once a day, seek medical attention, or travel to work if absolutely necessary. The police will have powers to disperse groups of people in public.

The hub manages a network of local support, coordinating Barnet Together’s established community groups and volunteers, as well as providing a non-medical urgent care helpline.

Whilst the service is working hard to minimise any disruption, changes are having to be made to blue recycling bin collections so weekly black refuse bin collections can continue during this time. Blue recycling bin collections will occur on the week commencing 30 March, week commencing 13 April and week commencing 27 April. The council will continue to monitor Government updates and review this arrangement in mid-April. 

This means that the council will now, temporarily, collect recycling waste on a fortnightly basis We will continue to collect general refuse waste from black bins on a weekly basis. You can find your fortnightly recycling collection dates at barnet.gov.uk/covid19
