Barnet Summertime music festival postponed till summer 2022

Barnet Council is postponing its Barnet Summertime Festival till summer 2022. The music festival, which was to be the culmination of a summer of events in the borough including a popular outdoor cinema in Victoria park in Finchley, and a series of community carnivals and pop-up events in various town centres, has been put back until next year due to a number of factors. Ticket holders will be contacted with the option to keep hold of their tickets for next year's festival, or to have their money refunded.

New facilities will include tennis courts, 3G artificial turf pitches, a high ropes course, bowling green, multi-use games area, outdoor gym, play area, skate park and more. Have your say on rental property licensing schemes

The consultation, which runs until Thursday 28 October, will gather views on proposals to renew an additional licensing scheme for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), along with the introduction of new selective licensing schemes to regulate other privately rented properties. The aim is to improve and maintain the condition and management of private rented accommodation for the benefit of tenants, landlords and residents in general, and to reduce deprivation, anti-social behaviour and crime associated with the private rented sector.

Barnet Council and Tarmac Kier apologise for travel disruption

Tarmac Kier – a joint venture between the companies Tarmac and Kier Highways – was conducting the work for the council as part of a 36-month highways maintenance and improvement contract. Councillor Dean Cohen, Chair of the Environment Committee, said: “Managing our road network effectively is a key priority for the council.
