A-level and BTEC results day 2021

This year students have been awarded grades by teachers and have only be assessed on what they have been taught, not what they may have missed. Teachers have based their judgements on students’ performance on a range of evidence, which could include mock exams, non-exam assessment (coursework) in some subjects, as well as other assessments done in class.
Barnet among five North London Councils partners shortlisted for adult care national award

The North London Councils partnership, which comprises the borough councils of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington, was put forward as a finalist in the Local Government Chronicle’s (LGC) 2021 annual awards in the ‘Health & Social Care’ category. It is the only multi-council partnership to be named as a finalist in this year’s awards.
Results day for Barnet’s GCSE students

While national league tables have again been suspended this year, it is expected that Barnet students will again perform strongly in their GCSEs. In 2019, the last time there were external examinations, students in the borough ranked second for Progress 8 scores, which gauge the progress made by each student during their time at secondary school, placing them second in the country out of 151 local authorities.
Barnet's Local Elections are this Thursday 5 May

This Thursday 5 May, voters in Barnet will go to the polls in the Local Elections to elect 63 councillors across 24 wards. Voters will receive one ballot paper when they go to vote. Barnet’s recent ward boundary changes mean that the borough is now made up of nine 2-councillor wards and fifteen 3-councillor wards, based on the number of electors that they contain. Therefore, depending on which ward they live in, voters will vote for either 2 or 3 councillors to represent them.
Barnet celebrates unsung heroes at 22nd Annual Civic Awards

This year’s Barnet Civic Awards were presented to members of the public and organisations that have performed outstanding voluntary work in their local communities. They were awarded at a special ceremony at Hendon Town Hall on Wednesday 6 April. This year’s awards were divided into two categories: ‘Lifetime Achievement’ and ‘Outstanding Service to the Community’.

Local elections 2022: Labour take control of Barnet Council

The count for the Barnet local elections took place overnight at Saracens’ StoneX stadium, finishing this morning at 7.00am (Friday 6 May). Following the overnight count, the results have been declared and the Barnet Labour group now has full control of the council. Labour 41 seats and Conservatives 22 seats. The provisional voter turnout was 97,480 (37.9%).

Barnet Labour Group announces top five commitments after taking majority control of the council

Barnet Labour group now has majority control of the council following local elections on Thursday 5 May. Labour won 41 seats and Conservatives took 22 seats with the provisional voter turnout being 97,480 (37.9%).
Update on roadworks at Apex Corner

Following further work between Barnet Council Officers and Transport for London the roadworks of the current phase have been reduced: A Barnet Council spokesperson said: "TfL has committed to reducing the duration of the current phase of work on the A41 by one week, it is now scheduled to be completed by 10 June.
