Activities available at the centre

A range of term time and holiday activities take place in Canada Villa Youth Activity Centre for young people aged 4 to 19 and up to 25 with Disabilities or Autism.

  • Music Production
  • Cookery Workshops
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Fitness & Gym Sessions
  • Boxing Sessions
  • Graffiti Workshops
  • Digital Photography
  • Hair Dressing
  • Media Hub

All our Positive Activities are free (fully funded) for children and young people that live or are educated in Barnet.

If your young person does need 1 to 1 support, unfortunately we (Barnet Council’s 0 to19 Early Help Programmes Team) aren’t able to provide 1 to 1 or additional support for a young person to access any of our activities, courses or programmes.

Your 1 to 1 support worker would need to be provided by you as a parent/carer or any professionals (Social Worker, 0 to 19 Practitioner, etc.) involved with your young person.

The worker providing 1 to 1 support would need to be DBS checked and meets all the requirements to support a young person with SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disabilities and or Autism).

Also the worker can be arranged by contact Short Breaks Team or Disabled Children’s Team and using your Short Break allocation.

If you don’t have knowledge about these two teams you can contact them and find out if your child is eligible:

For a young person to access any of our positive activities, they need to have a registered account on our website. An account needs to be created by a parent or carer or if the young person is over 18 they can create their own account on our website.

We understand that circumstances can change very quickly and sometimes a young person can no longer attend an activity for a number of reasons. Please make sure if an activity or session that needs to be cancelled it is update on your dashboard/profile on our website and the cancellation is in advance.
