Black History Walks in London Volume One. This unique book examines the streets of London from an African/Caribbean perspective and tells stories that the typical history books and tour guides never cover.
In this interactive presentation, we will hear about Black World War 2 heroes, Ancient African architecture, museums of stolen goods, amazing black films, scientists/inventors, secret food history, black gold, pirates and much more. We will also hear about Jacaranda Books and their pioneering Twenty in 2020 initiative which published 20 books by 20 Black British authors in one year, an unprecedented feat.
This event is part of Black History Month and Barnet Libraries Creative Communities programme in partnership with The African Cultural Association.
