Biodiversity net gain (BNG)

I am requesting the following information, since 12 February 2024:The total number of planning applicationsreceived by your authority that were eligible for the mandatory statutory biodiversity net gain (BNG) requirements. For the avoidance of doubt, this should be the total number of applications youreceived, not the number of applications that were eventually subject to BNG.For the avoidance of doubt, this should include applications received that claimed BNG applied to their development AND applications that claimed BNG did not apply on their site (i.e. they claimed an exemption) The total number of planning applications that:Claimed to be exempt from BNGOf this number, please provide the number of exemptions claims there were under each of the following categories:Householder exemptionDe minimis exemption (developments impacting less than 25 square metres of habitat or 5 metres of linear habitat)Self-build and custom-build exemptionsOther criteriaIn addition to the answer to 2b please set out: How many of these claims of exemption were accepted.How many of these claims of exemptions were accepted for each of the categories set out in 2b(i), 2b(ii), 2b(iii) and 2b(iv)? Of this number, how many applications provided a complete statutory biodiversity metric sheet or Small Site Metric Sheet to demonstrate that they were genuinely entitled to an exemption.To clarify, in my original request I asked for the number of exemptions that were accepted excluding the householder applications. However, in the response you provided it seemed that there were more applications accepted than there were non-householder applications, which led me to believe that they had been included in the total. For the avoidance of doubt, I am therefore requesting the number for each of the exemption categories, so I can be sure to remove householder exemptions from the end-total.
