Freedom of Information Request

Multiverse

Received: 11 June 2025

. I am writing to the Barnet Borough Council to find out about any contracts/partnerships that the council has with Multiverse, Euan Blair's EdTech firm.Multiverse uses an AI service called Atlas that claims to provide "personalised learning" to apprentices on its program by using all kinds of data, and I understand that they have contracts with various public bodies including councils. In the light of this, could you please answer the following questions:1) Does the Barnet Borough Council have any dealings with Multiverse?2) Is this in the form of any formal contracts with Multiverse for services? Please give a full list of any contracts the council has with Multiverse with information on the duration of the contracts, money awarded and what they are for.3) Does this include sending apprentices on Multiverse's Apprenticeship program? If yes, how many apprentices has the council sent to Multiverse over the years for upskilling and training?4) How much money in total has the council awarded Multiverse for various services over the years? Give a breakdown of what services the funding was put towards.5) What kind of data exchange happens between the council and Multiverse during the course of the apprenticeship and before/after? Is it only the apprentice's personal data that gets fed into Multiverse's AI system or any other form of council/public data is shared? Give a list of what kind of data points that get shared.6) Does Multiverse share any form of data in return with the council? Give a list of what kind of data points get shared.7) Is any other public data shared by the council with Multiverse under other arrangements? Give a list of what kind of data points get shared.8) Are there any data protection guidelines in place to protect public's data being shared with a private company without due consent?
