To celebrate the re-opening of our high streets, as part of the Discover Barnet campaign, Barnet Council is hosting a competition to encourage independent businesses and local organisations across our town centres to refresh their window displays and come up with a business plan to show how the prize money would be invested.

Thanks to the ongoing sacrifices that we have all made to prevent the spread of infection, and the cautious approach to reopening, we can now regain more freedoms.

Nick Mearing-Smith of the Conservatives has been elected the new councillor for Edgware ward following the by-election on 6 May 2021. Nick Mearing-Smith will fill the vacancy that resulted from the passing of Cllr Brian Gordon in autumn 2020.

Now it has been transformed into a large scale vaccination centre, run by the Royal Free London, to vaccinate thousands of people in the fight against COVID-19.

Originally part of the Olympic Stadium, the track was transported to StoneX after the London 2012 Olympics, where it is used by local people as an indoor athletics training centre and events space.
