Collindeep Lane had been an important road in the medieval period, but was called Ancient Street between the Tudor and Victorian periods.

With the arrival of Middlesex University in the 2000s and the repurposing of the area’s civic heritage this heartbeat has changed while the area continues to play a vital role in the economic, social and cultural health of the Borough. A new planning framework for the area can help ensure this vitality is retained while enhancing the many qualities that attract people to live and stay in this area.
