The Dollis Valley Estate lies to the north of the borough on the outskirts of Chipping Barnet near High Barnet, the last station on the Northern Line. The estate is on a south facing slope within an area of traditional suburban housing with excellent views across the adjacent green belt, and designated as both a Countryside Conservation area and Heritage Land.

The regeneration of the West Hendon estate, in the south-west of the borough, aims to create a new mixed neighbourhood of social, private and affordable homes with a range of benefits, including a new school and community centre.

Barnet is a good place to work and invest It has the largest population of any London borough and more businesses than any outer-London borough. Many businesses are succeeding here already.
